Coffee and a Visit

How many of us have had seasons in our lives that were more relaxed and allowed for more downtime? It may not be the season we are in right now, but perhaps we might remember a time as such. I do remember a season of transition in my life when I was between calls (pastor thing), and I intentionally made time for “coffee and a visit” with dear people in my life. It was sacred. It was also atypical.

I wonder if you are the go-getter type who is always striving? Do you have a nagging feeling of guilt when you relax? Is “unproductive” even a word in your category? Many of us fall into this category and, while we may be admired for our accomplishments, it is an exhausting and relentless way to live.

Receive this invitation today: invite someone over for coffee and visit. Don’t make sweetbread to go with the coffee. Don’t vacuum first. Don’t put a tablecloth on. The gift you offer is the gift of yourself, which is your greatest asset. You are a beautiful offering and those around you are longing to sit with you. Make the invitation.
