Can blessings be bought?

I used to think there was only one source of blessings. God. And while I still believe God doles out God’s fair share (and then some), a recent trip to the hair salon has me wondering, can blessings be bought? Maybe it’s because I left a bit shell-shocked by the price I paid for my hair color in a bottle, but I must admit that pricey hair but a big silly smile on my face! And because of that, I feel blessed.
If only it were always this easy to feel blessed, right? If we could just enjoy a yummy bowl of ice cream, or a good conversation with a friend or read a delightful book and feel blessed. Trouble is, life gets messy and hard, and it takes more than a trip to the hair salon to put a smile on our face.
This is especially true for caregivers who spend their entire day compassionately caring for others. Caregivers are people who have devoted their lives being sensitive to the needs of others. Some caregivers do this all day, every day. And while caregivers will tell you they could not live any other way, it can be an exhausting existence.
And so for all people, but especially those who give the most, how might we share blessings with them? While ultimately all blessings come from the One And Only, we can find ways to share tangible evidences of God in the here and now with those who need it most.
Be inspired!
